  Notice of the Bureau

  The Bureau announces an extraordinary event: the Moon will pass across Venus and conceal it above the parcel for an hour. This occurs in broad daylight, around half past eleven in the morning, and Venus is bright enough to be seen even so. The Bureau stresses that no seizure of the planet is involved — Venus returns at 12:41 in unaltered condition.

  Pursuant to §14(2) — Overflights: “Overflight by aircraft, satellites, and the International Space Station does not constitute disturbance of tenure. Waving is permitted and encouraged.”

  The Bureau announces the Harvest Moon — it rises shortly after sunset for several evenings running, which the Bureau regards as an unordered extra. Harvesting the sky is not permitted; looking at it is.

  Pursuant to §12(1) — The Moon: “The Moon passes through the parcel as a guest in good faith. It pays no rent; it shines.”

  Notice of the Bureau

  The Bureau announces the overflight of the Draconids. The shower is notorious for either failing to appear at all or arriving in numbers the Bureau cannot record fast enough. No forecast is therefore issued. It is observed straight after dusk, not towards morning.

  Pursuant to §11(4) — Stars: “Stars visible from the parcel are non-transferable. Shooting stars do not count toward the parcel area; wishes are non-refundable.”
